2009 High school boy's roster announced
The 2009 Bamalax Elite squad that will represent Alabama at the Tournament of Champions in Tampa, January 2-4th has been selected.  The team will be lead by returning members John Somerall and Haden Smith who attended last week's Diamond showcase in Baltimore.

BAMALAX GIRLS WIN DEREK PEIPER MEMORIAL CUP !!
Win qualifies team for the tournament of champions in January
Congratulations also to the U11 and U13 boys who both did well and enjoyed winning records on the weekend.  The girls finished with a 7-6 victory over the Florida Lacrosse Club (FLC) from Tampa.  Team FLC came on late scoring two goals with under a minute left but ran out of time which sealed the victory for BAMALAX ! If you have pictures to post from the tournament, please share them at WWW.BAMALAX.SHUTTERFLY.COM.  The next tournament for the girls will be the Southern Draw in Atlanta, December 6th.


BAMALAX ANNOUNCES FIRST HS GIRL'S TEAM ROSTER
The Bamalax elite travel teams continue to expand and are pleased to announce the addition of the first BAMALAX high school girl's team.  CLICK HERE for complete roster.  The BAMALAX girls will be coached by Tom Kraus, Dave Klementz, Chris Moseley and Dave Link.  The Bamalax girls will have their first tournament in November in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

5 BAMALAX players make Adidas Southeastern squad
Congratulations Haden Smith, John Somerall, Jake Ponseti, Jacob Winkles and Trey Atkinson.  The five Alabama standouts competed at the Adidas National tournament in Baltimore this past July.

BAMALAX SELECT TEAMS WIN AT BAGATAWAY !

BAMALAX midfielder selected to National Senior showcase
Hoover HS and BAMALAX Select stand out, Brye French was selected to the South roster for the US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase tournament to be played in Chicago this Summer.  Brye will be attending the Naval Academy in August.  Only 24 players were selected from the South and under 100 Nationally.  Brye has also been nominated for the Under Armour All-American game and was selected to play in the prestigious North/South Alabama football classic.

BAMALAX SUPERSTARS SHINE IN FLORIDA
The BAMALAX U11 Superstars coached by David Link and Sam Kahlil recently competed in the Parkland lacrosse festival just outside Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  The Superstars went 3-1 on the weekend even defeating coach Cos' childhood nemisis, Yorktown from the Hudson Valley region of NY.  The Superstars were lead by Max Sherman who netted 11 goals and added 6 assists.  Read the full story by clicking here For awesome photos, click here

BAMALAX SELECT TAKES BRONZE AT GEORGIA GAMES
The BAMALAX SELECT team won the bronze medal game beating Sprayberry 17-5.  Leading up to the bronze game BAMALAX lost a nail biter in OVER-TIME to eventual GOLD medal winner TRIDENT 12-11 .  BAMALAX was lead by Hoover midfielder Brye French who scored 8 goals and added 5 assists.  CLICK HERE for full story and CLICK HERE for photo gallery.

BAMALAX SELECT GOES 3-1 in GEORGIA
The BAMALAX high school Select team competed in Roswell, Georgia at the inaugural TILT tournament and finished 3-1 on the weekend only losing to Team TRIDENT.  The BAMALAX squad had amazing chemistry and looked like they had played together for months putting on a very impressive performance.  The team was lead by Jeremy Sherman from Huntsville who netted 7 goals and added 6 assists, Harrison Proctor (Mountain Brook) 6 goals, 6 assists, Jack Winters (Hoover) 7 goals, 4 assists and Haden Smith (John Carroll) 6 goals, 4 assists.  Will Bromberg (Mountain Brook) added 4 goals, 3 assists and Stewart Moore (John Carroll) netted 4 goals.  Other scorers were Jake Ponseti (Homewood) Chad Porter (Hoover) and Dylan O’Hare (John Carroll).  The BAMALAX defense was extremely stingy and goalies Bryan Simkanich (Hoover) and Charlie Lakin (Spain Park) were both solid throughout the weekend, Alex Wright (Vestavia) won the majority of face-offs and contributed to numerous fast-break goals.

Bagatway tournament runner-ups
The Alabama high school all-stars participated in the Bagataway tournament in Stone Mountain Georgia and finished the weekend 5-1 losing only in the championship game to the Bagataway Blackhawks of Gwinett, Georgia.  The Bamalax all-stars were lead by Brye French (Hoover) who scored 9 goals and added 3 assists on the weekend and Jeremy Sherman (Vestavia) who netted 8 goals and 3 assists.  Bamalax was lead on defense by Brandon Pennington (Vestavia), Phillip Powell (Mountain Brook) and Conor Conway (Hoover).  The Bamalax team received fantastic goaltending from both Hal Isbell (Mountain Brook) and Paul Simmons (Vestavia) who combined finished the weekend with only a 2.3 GAA !!  To view the Bamalax all-star photo gallery CLICK HERE
